Also, we still need a new contest theme as well as prize suggestions. I'd be happy to draw people award pictures, but 1) I am slow, and 2) People might not like them to begin with. ~_^ Soooo yes. Tell me what you guys think. And send in fanthings. The Great Green Arkleseizure would want you to.

HHGG News

Radio drama update: The quintessential phase has now finished airing on BBC Radio Four. For those who'd like to listen, that means that there are now five phases and 26 segments to hear.

Movie update: It's come and it's gone, but the DVD will be out in the US on September first. It looks promising... 2 discs with several new scenes that were filmed with the purpose of being included just on the DVD. Exciting!

Also, ~Ilovejuice has pointed out that all those who journey to [link] can hear Marvin, ie Stephen Moore, singing the blues in four songs that were released in 1981. They're highly amusing, especially Reasons to be Miserable and Marvin, I Love You.

As we all know, the Hitchhikers Guide movie has been out for just over a month, and of course there are many differences between it and the books (or it and the radio dramas... or it and the TV series... or the TV series and the books... or the radio dramas and the comics...). Your mission is to create a picture or story that features some discrepency between any two or more mediums that HHGG has appeared in, be it a changed line, a new character, or whatever clever little thing you can think of. Good luck!

Radio drama update: Currently at 6:30 PM (1:30 PM EST) the BBC Radio 4 is airing the new Quintessential Phase of the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy! Each segment will be repeated at the same time that thursday and will be available for download for a week after. So either set your radios or tune into [link] to stream the preformance!

And as an "you're awesome" prize, she wins a picture drawn by myself. In addtion, we have four new members but again, no club art update. Come on people, we've got nearly fourty members. I'm sure someone is drawing or writing out there?

The other big news is that the HHGG Tertiary phase begins broadcasting TODAY! Can't make it to your computer on time? Have no fear; the segments will repeat on Thursday and be available for download for seven days afterwards (scroll down for more information).

It's contest time again! With Halloween coming up, and in celebration of the new radio drama series (which deserves a day of recognition itself), the next theme is holidays. Not national holidays mind you, but galactic ones. And who knows what sorts of occasions they have on Alpha Centauri and Betelguese. Share and Enjoy day? Get drunk and fall down week? National sperm whale appreciation time? We may never know. To submit your entry, send me a note with a link to your picture before Tuesday, October 12th! Radio drama update: It's here! In a mere four hours (I.E. 1:30 PM EST or 6:30 PM for those who are actually in England) the BBC Radio 4 will air the new Tertiary Phase of the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy! The remaining cast from thirty years ago is returning, and I for one am ludicrously excited. So either set your radios or tune into [link] to download the preformance!
